Teagan Littlechief is 21 years old and she is from the White Bear First Nations in the South East corner of Saskatchewan 6 miles north of Carlyle, Sask.
At the age four, Teagan’s ability to sing was noticed Joan McDonald, her play-school teacher. Joan overheard Teagan singing “Part of Your World” from the “Little Mermaid” movie. Joan was impressed. She talked to Sara (Teagan’s Mom) told her to take Teagan’s talent seriously and encouraged her to put Teagan in voice lessons.
When Teagan turned 6 Joan had a voice trainer for her. Since then Teagan has come along way.
Teagan sings all types of music from Martina McBride, Leeann Rimes, Gretchen Wilson, ACDC, Rolling Stones, CCR and many more.
- age14, she recorded 2 demo’s “Wild Girl” & “Let’s Not Fall In Love”
- age 15 she won the 2002 GX94 Star Search Championship, with this came her release of her singles “Vulnerable” & “Bring It On”
- Teagan received the 2002 Sask-Tel Aboriginal Youth Performing Arts Award.
- She is the 2003 Estevan Idol.
- She sang the National Anthem for the Sept 6th 2003 Rough Rider game
- 2001, 2004 & 2006 she performed on the “Voices of the North” concert.
- Teagan performed in the Painted Hand, Northern Lights and Bear Claw & the Regina Casinos.
- She came 3rd in the 2004 Bear Trax North American Talent Search winning recording time for the single “Promise”.
- She also came 3rd in the 2004 CKRM Talent Search in Regina.
- In 2004 recorded “O Holy Night” for a Christmas CD
- 2005 she was the CKRM Star Search Champion and recorded another single “Once An Eagle” written and produced by Canadian STEVE FOX
- 2005 Dauphin Country Fest Star Search Champion and recorded 2 singles that she wrote “Rise Above” & “I Can Do Better than That”
- Teagan earned the chance to appear in Toronto for Canadian Idol after her showing at the local Regina Canadian Idol auditions.
- 2006 Bear Claw Casino Idol Winner
- Nominated for the Sask . Country Music Awards for Aboriginal Artist of the year in 2006
- Her song "ONCE an EAGLE" was named in the TOP 10 Aboriginal songs in Canada for 2006.
- Teagan won the LOCAL.. COLGATE COUNTRY SHOWDOWN in Minot , N.D. at the State fair in 2007.
